If you want to go to Shapla village of Satla, first you have to go to Barisal from all parts of the country. From Dhaka to Barisal you have to go by road or waterway.
How to get on the road
It can take 6 to 7 hours to go from Dhaka to Barisal by road. Regular buses to Barisal are available at Gabtali in Dhaka from 6 am to 10 pm. Usually the buses go to Barisal through Paturia Ghat. However, some buses go to Barisal via Mawa Ghat.
Buses coming from Dhaka stop at Natullabad bus stand in Barisal. Hanif Paribahan, Eagle Paribahan, Shakura Paribahan are some of the places to go to Barisal. In this case AC buses will cost 600-700 rupees and non-AC buses will cost 500 rupees.
Moreover, several local buses ply on this road. These buses cost 250-300 rupees to go to Barisal. It is better to avoid these buses. These buses take a lot of time.
How to get to the waterway
If you want to go to Barisal by boat from Dhaka, you have to go to Sadarghat in Dhaka first. Many launches leave for Barisal between 8 and 9 pm at Sadarghat in Dhaka. Survi 6, Parabat 11, Sundarbans 6/7, Kirtinkola 1/2 launches leave for Barisal. The night launches reach Barisal at 5 am.
