Batali Hills: The highest hill in Chittagong city
I then spent barely a day on Patenga beach. There is still a lot of time on hand. Surrounded by natural beauty and tradition, he did not want to leave Chittagong so soon. So I decided to stay here for a while and enjoy the beauty of Chittagong. But how many more days from the hotel! I searched and got the address of a close relative. It didn't take long for him to find the address due to his childhood in Chittagong.
When I reached home, I had to face various responsibilities. Their complaint is why I came to Chittagong and spent the night in a hotel. I subtly refuted the allegations and explained to them the main purpose of coming to Chittagong. Eventually they agreed but the shadow of pride on their faces still did not cut. And to remove that shadow, they had to spend the afternoon here and receive their entertainment.
As soon as I came out of the house in the afternoon, it started raining heavily. Not as effective, but very effective in treating colds and fevers. I looked at the sky with a contemptuous smile and said in my mind what else can this rain bind me! How much bigger rain passed over my head due to the intoxication of wandering. How many times have I returned home in the middle of the night after getting wet in the rain? The sky in Chittagong is trying unsuccessfully to stop me because it does not know.
In this way, I reached the Tigerpass intersection in my mind. There is a hill somewhere nearby which is the highest hill in Chittagong city. Of course, there are many small hills from the road, but the highest hill in Chittagong city will not be so small. Not less than 260 feet in height. Again I heard that it extends from Tiger Pass to Lalkhan Bazar.
With less time on hand, you need to get help from a local to find the hill quickly. I asked a couple of people in the vicinity who spoke the regional language of Chittagong to know the way to Batali hill. One fell from the sky. The other looked around and tried to remember, but in the end failed, saying he didn't know. I realized in what to do, no local can tell the road to this hill. Because even cows do not eat grass near the barn. Although this is our regional proverb, we found proof of its authenticity in Chittagong city.
The traffic police caught sight of him. I learned from him that if you want to go there, you have to go to Lalkhan Bazaar first. I kept walking towards Lalkhan Bazaar. There are some mounds on both sides of the road. Going a little farther, I saw two tiger statues on either side of the road. It looks like a tiger is going to cross two roads. It is not too late to understand that Tigerpass is meant by two tigers. I don't know if there was a tiger behind the naming of this place!
Going a little further I saw a road along the middle of two tillers on the left. Two 10-12 year old children were talking on the street. Batali recognized the name of the hill as soon as he told them and asked them to walk along the broken road. After walking some distance as they said, I discovered that the road was gradually rising upwards and I saw a settlement in the distance. The place didn't seem to have much of an advantage. I was a little scared, I will not be in any danger!
After a while I saw a child coming from the other side with a school bag on his shoulder. He smiled and replied that it was Batali hill. When he wanted to know the way to the top of the hill, he pointed to the settlement. I got a little courage in my mind because I know kids never show the wrong way. But still it seemed as if the road was over after going some distance. I proceeded with a little doubt in my mind.
Going to the end of the road, I saw an iron staircase on the right side. The relief came back to mind. As soon as he got up from there, an Ansar camp was set up and as soon as he introduced himself, an Ansar came and asked more questions than necessary and finally informed that his house was in our district.
It felt good to come so far and meet a man in my area. Strength came back to my body, I started to climb the iron stairs with him. After climbing some distance, we reached the desired peak of the hill.
From here you can see the bird's eye view of the entire port city. Due to the heavy rains, the entire port city seems to be wrapped in a blanket of fog and lying on the Batali hills.
According to the description of the accompanying desi bhai (people who come to Chittagong call him a desi bhai when they meet a stranger in their area) on the east side of the peak is the elite hotel Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View in Chittagong. To the south are Sagar, Bandar, Agrabad area, to the north are Tankir hills, to the west are AK Khan's hills and in the middle of these small houses can be seen. It looked so good and for the first time,
If I were a bird; Birds lost in the nest!
I flew morning and evening; I used to travel all over the world.
