 Bihar Travel and Tourism offers a large number of tourist destinations scattered in different parts of the state. It is located in northern India along the eastern Gangetic plain. The name of this state is derived from ‘Bihar’, which means Buddhist monastery, because in the past this place was a major training center of Buddhism. Bihar's antiquity dates back to the sixth century BC. It was here that Lord Mahavira was born in Vaishali and Lord Buddha ‘attained enlightenment’ under the Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya.

It makes the land fertile and productive. Bihar's underground minerals make a significant contribution to the creation of national resources.

As a result of a large number of Buddhist destinations, it has become a pilgrimage center for those who come to Bihar with old ruins and ancient religious inscriptions. A large number of people visit Hindu and Jain holy places. A wide network of many national highways, such as National Road No. 2, National Road No. 23, National Road No. 23, National Highway No. 26, National Highway No. 30, National Highway No. 31 and National Highway No. 33 and State Highways pass through this state, connecting it with important cities all over India.


The world's first university was established here. The ruins of which are one of the tourist attractions of Bihar. Some sacred places of Buddhism are located here. Also some important places of Hindu, Sikh and Jain religions are located here.
